I’m originally from Louisiana, but have lived in Tennessee for over 26 years so I definitely consider it my home and can’t imagine living anywhere else.
Mom to one amazing teenage girl Kody & to 2 dogs: Dixie & Gus.
I graduated from Belmont with a degree in History and Political Science but currently work for a general life insurance agent where I have the opportunity to help people with their estate plans and insurance needs.
My journey to Tae Bo® Fitness came about 4 months into my road to weight loss. In September of 2009, I had reached my highest weight of 436lbs and knew that as the adoption of my daughter drew close I needed to make a significant change with regards to my health. I joined Weight Watchers and eventually started working out at home using Tae Bo® Fitness videos. In January of 2010 I joined a gym and a month later I walked into my first Tae Bo® Fitness class weighing 370lbs. I immediately fell in love not just with the workout but also with the instructors & fellow classmates. Tae Bo® Fitness helped me to lose a total of 290lbs and gain a confidence like I had never before had. It also gave a community that has supported and encouraged me along the way. In 2012 I became certified in Tae Bo® Basic & Advanced and have since added Tae Bo® Extreme to my certification. Shellie & Mark asked me to join the T.E.A.M. as a TRX instructor in 2013 and whole new love for teaching was awakened. I love seeing people push themselves to achieve more than they ever thought possible. I enjoy encouraging people to go hard and to always give a 100%. I love what the Bible says in Philippians 3:13-14: But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Press ON!
